Where this ranking lands
We reviewed two pet supply stores in this category, and they are far apart. ZezeLife is an active, cat-focused shop with a clear design identity and detailed listings. PetStrap's catalog and policies were not visible to us at all. So this page is less a horse race than a guide to one brand worth considering, one to check carefully, and the criteria that matter for any pet purchase online.
| Rank | Brand | Best for | Main caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ZezeLife | Cat trees, beds and bowls that look like decor | No return policy text found; overseas items take up to 6 weeks |
| 2 | PetStrap | Not recommended until policies are visible | No catalog, prices, policies or contact details found |
1. ZezeLife: best for design-minded cat owners
ZezeLife is a cat-only store of about 371 products, built around one idea: cat furniture should not look like beige carpet. Its cat trees are shaped like flower gardens, elephants, hot air balloons and cactus pots; its beds look like clouds, whales, swim rings and convertibles. The about page says it works with designers and veterinarians, and the site draws an estimated 110,000 monthly visits.
What the listings do well: dimensions and materials. The Flower Themed Amusement Park Cat Tree is 33.5 x 23.6 x 53.9 inches with a 44.1 lb max weight, built from engineered wood, hemp rope and paper tubes, with a condo, lounger, deck and scratching posts. The Removable and Washable Premium Pet Sofa Bed comes in medium (27.2 x 21.7 inches) and large (33.5 x 27.2 inches) and is rated for 20 to 50 lb pets. The slanted bowl uses a 304 stainless steel insert in a melamine shell at a 15 degree tilt.
What to plan around:
- Shipping location. In-stock items ship from Los Angeles in 3 to 5 business days, free over $59 ($8 below). Items not stocked in LA ship from overseas: 1 to 3 weeks by air for small packages, 4 to 6 weeks by economy for large items. Many listings, including big cat trees and beds, are economy only.
- Returns. We could not find return or warranty policy text in the pages we reviewed. Ask support before ordering a large cat tree, and keep the packaging until you are sure.
- Support. 24/7 online chat is listed; the phone number is a China number and the operating companies are in Hong Kong and London, so expect chat or email.
- Platform size. Themed shapes can have smaller perches than plain towers. Check dimensions and weight limits for large cats.
- Pricing. Most items run roughly $15 to $170, and large themed cat trees cost far more. Check the current price on each product page.
2. PetStrap: hold off until you can see the terms
PetStrap runs a store at petstrap.net, and its name suggests harnesses, collars and leashes. When we checked, the catalog was not publicly browsable, and we could not find a title, about page, contact page, shipping policy or return policy. That is not proof of a problem, and our caution reflects missing information rather than a complaint. But fit is everything for gear your pet wears daily, and without a size chart or exchange policy, the risk is on you. If the site shows those when you visit, judge it then; otherwise, buy from a store with published terms.
How to choose pet supplies online
Cat trees and scratchers
- Stability first. A tall tree needs a wide, heavy base. Compare base footprint to height, and look for a max weight rating; ZezeLife lists 44.1 lb on its flower tree.
- Perch size vs your cat. Measure your cat stretched out. Decorative shapes often trade perch area for looks.
- Scratch surface. Sisal rope or sisal fabric holds up to claws better than carpet. If a listing's tags and description disagree on material (one ZezeLife scratcher is tagged cardboard but described as sisal), ask.
- Assembly and shipping time. Large trees ship economy from overseas at many design-led stores. Order well before a move-in or holiday.
Beds
- Size up. Many cats like to stretch out; a 17-inch bed can be tight for a large cat.
- Washability. Removable, machine-washable covers make life easier. Several themed beds here are wipe-clean only.
- Season. Cooling mats help in hot homes: fabric mats are mild, gel pads cool more but can be punctured by chewers.
Bowls and feeders
- Material. Stainless steel is easy to sanitize and does not hold odors. Ceramic is heavy and stable but can chip.
- Tilt and height. A slight tilt can make it easier for flat-faced cats to reach food.
Toys
- Supervise strings and wands. Put wand toys and hanging strings away when you are not watching, since cats can swallow string.
- Catnip and silvervine do not work on every cat; buy one before buying several.
Harnesses, collars and leashes
- Measure girth, not weight. Neck and chest measurements decide fit.
- Check hardware. Metal D-rings and buckles generally outlast plastic.
- Confirm size exchanges before you buy, since many pet stores do not accept used gear for hygiene reasons.
Store checks for any pet purchase
- A written return policy with a time limit
- Stated shipping times and the warehouse location
- Real dimensions and materials on every listing
- A working contact email, chat or phone line
- Payment with a credit card or PayPal for buyer protection
Bottom line
If you want cat furniture that doubles as decor, ZezeLife is the store we would look at first. Its listings are detailed and its LA warehouse ships fast, but ask about returns before a big order and plan for up to six weeks on overseas items. Skip PetStrap until it publishes a catalog, sizing and return terms you can read.
