CANNI and Venalisa are close cousins. Both sell low-cost UV/LED gel polish, builder gels and salon-size refills, both ship from Asia (CANNI from China, Venalisa from Hong Kong), both offer free shipping at $20, and both refuse returns on opened gels. In our reviews they finish almost level, with Venalisa a hair ahead. So the choice comes down to formula preferences, delivery speed, return rules and which kit fits how you work.
Quick verdict
- Pick Venalisa if you want HEMA-free formulas across most of the catalog, a huge color range with lots of cat eye and glitter series, and slightly faster standard delivery.
- Pick CANNI if you want a deep range of sculpting, builder, chrome and 3D art gels, a publicly listed company address and phone number, and very cheap 16ml basics.
- For a first gel kit, both are good value per milliliter. Venalisa's V7 22-piece set and CANNI's CC8 30-piece kit each contain about 270 ml of product, at $89 and $99 respectively.
- If you need supplies within a week, neither is a good fit unless you spend over $200 with Venalisa to qualify for FedEx Express.

Price and value
Both brands are cheap per bottle, but formats differ, so compare per milliliter.
Single bottles. Venalisa's 10 ml Vintage Cocoa shades cost $4.50 each, and its 7.5 ml Spring Summer shades are $3.90. CANNI single gels typically run $6 to $7.50, but some come in larger 16 ml bottles: its 16 ml no-wipe top coat is $6.12, or about $0.38 per ml.
Base and top coats. CANNI's 16 ml base coat, reinforce gel and top coat set is $17.90 (48 ml total, about $0.37 per ml). Venalisa's base, no-wipe top and matte top set in 10 ml bottles is $13.90 (30 ml, about $0.46 per ml), and all three are TPO-free and HEMA-free. CANNI gives you more product and a strengthening gel; Venalisa gives you a matte option and a HEMA-free label.
Starter kits. Venalisa's V7 set is $89 for 18 colors, base, glossy top and matte top in 10 ml bottles plus a 60 ml top coat refill, about $0.33 per ml. CANNI's CC8 kit is $99 for 24 colors in 9 ml bottles plus a dehydrator, primer, base, reinforce gel, diamond top and matte top, about $0.37 per ml. CANNI includes more prep products and colors; Venalisa includes more top coat. Neither includes a lamp, and neither lists shade names in text, so check the color card images.
Salon refills. CANNI sells 1 kg base coat and matte top coat refills at $225 each. Venalisa sells 1 kg jelly extension hard gel in 24 colors at $149 and 1 kg rubber base at $139. Both are only sensible for high-volume techs already happy with the formula.
Formula and range
Venalisa leans into HEMA-free. Most of its lines, including the V7 set and its coats, are labeled TPO-free and HEMA-free. HEMA is a common gel ingredient linked to allergic reactions in some users, so many people who have reacted before look for HEMA-free gels. One caution: its 7.5 ml Spring Summer series does not state HEMA-free in the title, so check before buying if it matters to you. Venalisa's range is very broad on colors, cat eye and glitter.
CANNI goes deeper on technique-specific gels: quick builder gel in six-color sets ($29.50), thick no-wipe sculpting gel for 3D art ($6.23), metallic painting gel ($6.23) and a 12-jar chrome powder set with matching top coat ($39). Several coats and glitter sets come in HEMA-free versions, but it is not the default across the catalog. CANNI warns that some products are not suitable during pregnancy or for sensitive skin.
Poly gel extension kits are close. Venalisa's 4-in-1 acrylic gel kit ($24.99) clearly lists gel, 100 tips, slip liquid and a nail art pen. CANNI's 4-piece acrylic gel kit ($29) does not say which four pieces are included. Venalisa's listing is clearer here.
Lamps and curing
Both are UV/LED cure systems. Venalisa's FAQ recommends a lamp of at least 36W with 365 to 405 nm output, and quotes LED cure times of 60 to 90 seconds for its coats. CANNI's FAQ gives about 30 to 60 seconds per layer under LED. Note that Venalisa's own lamp is listed at 28.8W, below its 36W guidance, and has few other specs, so compare it with better-documented lamps before buying.
Shipping and returns in practice
Plan around delivery. CANNI's door-to-door time can run six to seven weeks once processing is included. Venalisa quotes 15 to 30 business days for standard shipping, which is also several weeks. Bundle orders to reach $20, and stock up before you run out.
Returns are restrictive at both. Opened gels cannot be returned anywhere, and you pay return shipping on non-defective items. Venalisa states a 14-day window from receipt. CANNI requires prior authorization and gives you only 7 days to report damage with photos. Open and inspect every package the day it arrives. EU buyers get a 14-day right of withdrawal from both.
Venalisa warns that unofficial sites sell its products at suspiciously low prices, so order only from venalisa.com.
Who should buy which
Choose Venalisa if you:
- have reacted to gels before or prefer HEMA-free formulas
- want the widest color, cat eye and glitter selection
- order over $200 at a time and want FedEx Express
Choose CANNI if you:
- do builder, sculpted, chrome or 3D nail art and want specialist gels
- want larger 16 ml bottles of basics
- prefer a seller with a published phone number and address
Either works if you are a home manicurist building a first kit and can wait several weeks for delivery.
