Also known as Galeuse d’Eysines and Courge Brodée Galeuse, this treasured squash was o riginally listed by Vilmorin in Les Plantes Potageres (1883) as Warted Sugar Marrow. It was later rediscovered by SSE member Amy Goldman in 1996 at the Tranzault Pumpkin Festival in France. Its unusual appearance, with wart-like extrusions, is cause by sugar in the skin. The globe shaped squash is unlike anything you have seen or tasted. Its signature sweet, velvety-rich flesh can be made into stews, baked or roasted.
