About Langy Solar Lighting

Langy (Langy Energy, operated by Sunrui Trading LLC per their about page) sells solar-powered and LED lighting plus a few solar ventilation and pest-control products. Their about page says the company was founded by Ming, a Ph.D. graduate of Southern Methodist University with a background in photochemistry, and the contact page lists a warehouse in Richardson, Texas.

What's in the catalog

The store has about 61 products, with prices from about $16 to $460 and a median near $100. About 43 items were on sale when we checked. Solar street and parking lot lights are the biggest category. Single lights include the 70W Solar Dusk to Dawn Light with remote at $69.69 and the 300W Solar Street Light (listed at 30,000 lumens with a 25,000 mAh battery) at $109.69. Pole kits like the 1400W solar street light with pole run about $330 to $410.

For garages, shops and warehouses there are U902 and U920 UFO LED high bay lights, such as the 200W, 30,000-lumen model at $94.69, plus 6-, 8- and 10-packs for larger spaces and a 0-10V dimmer. The rest of the range covers a 12-inch 55W solar attic fan ($259.69), thermostat-controlled gable fans, solar bug zappers and green or red solar feeder lights for night hunting.

How it compares

Langy's prices are typical of direct-from-manufacturer solar lighting sold online, and well below commercial lighting distributors. Listings are more detailed than many competitors': they link spec sheets, user manuals and IES files for the high bays, and state battery capacity, IP rating and runtime. One caution applies to the whole category: "wattage" on all-in-one solar street lights rarely reflects real power draw, so a "1800W" light is not comparable to an 1800W wired fixture. Judge by panel size, battery capacity and stated lumens, and expect real-world output to vary with sun exposure.

Shipping, returns and warranty

According to their policies, orders are handled in 1 to 2 days, free shipping takes 3 to 7 days and express takes 3 to 5, via UPS or USPS. They ship internationally, with duties due on delivery. Returns are accepted for any reason within 30 days of purchase if the product is undamaged and includes all accessories and original packaging; the contact page describes returns as free. Refunds post after the item reaches their warehouse.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects with free repair or replacement for one year. UFO high bays can be extended to 5 years and solar attic fans to 10 years, for a fee per claim that includes a percentage of the current product price. Labor and post-first-year shipping aren't covered. Support is by phone at (972) 803-3559 on weekdays or by email.
