RTT Sealant sells a water-based liquid rubber waterproofing system made for roof leak repairs, from homes to commercial and shopping centre roofs. Their site says the sealant is non-toxic and positioned as an alternative to solvent-based waterproofing, and that the business is 100% Australian owned. The contact page lists the trading company as Imocave Pty Ltd, a Queensland building licence number (QBCC 1242527), an address in Nerang, Queensland, and service areas in the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

What's in the range

The store is small and focused, about 10 products priced in Australian dollars, and they're designed to be used together as a system. The core product is the Waterproof Sealant, which they call the original liquid rubber DIY product, starting at A$34.95 for use on roofs, tanks, ponds, fencing and walls. Around it are prep and reinforcement items: a Primer / Sealer for painted metal, concrete and tiles (from A$29.95), a Rust Inhibitor Primer for rusty roofs (from A$34.95), Seam Tape for bigger cracks and joints (A$34.95) and Geo Textile that's sandwiched between sealant layers (from A$19.95).

Finishing products include the Protective Top Coat, a UV-reflective coating offered in Colorbond colours (from A$49.99), and Traffic Seal + Hardener, a three-component cementitious coating for box gutters, balconies and decks that will see foot traffic (A$129.95). What sets it apart

Most hardware-store roof patches are single products. RTT's approach is a layered system (primer, sealant with fabric or tape reinforcement, then a UV top coat), which is closer to how professional membranes are applied. Being water-based means easier cleanup and less odor than solvent systems. The tradeoff is that you need to buy and apply several products correctly, so read the instructions for each layer.

One caution: many listings show crossed-out prices far above the starting price (the Primer, for example, shows A$1,029.95). These appear tied to larger sizes rather than real discounts, so compare on price per litre for the size you need.

Shipping and returns

According to their shipping policy, shipping is free on all orders within Australia and New Zealand, with processing in 1 to 2 business days and delivery in 3 to 8 business days by Australia Post or Transdirect. Larger orders can be arranged by email. Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange if the product is in original condition, and the policy says RTT covers return shipping. Final sale items can't be returned. The contact page also mentions a 10-year warranty, but the specific terms weren't in the policy text we reviewed.
