Home fitness equipment is bulky, heavy and expensive to send back, so the right brand is the one whose products match your goal and whose return terms you can live with. We reviewed five brands in this category. Three are solid choices for specific goals, one is a qualified maybe, and one we would avoid for now. ## The short version
| Goal | Best brand here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Backyard or indoor play and bounce | Aotob | Low prices, free shipping, 5-year frame warranty |
| Strength training with plates you own | Kensui | Plate-loaded vests, dumbbells and neck trainers at low entry prices |
| Treadmill or cardio machine | YESOUL | Auto-incline treadmills from $599.99 |
| Trying EMS muscle stimulation | APE BORN | Single-zone devices from $99.99, but conflicting return terms |
| Yoga gear | Yogamu | Not recommended: store was unavailable when we checked |
1. Aotob: best value trampolines
Aotob is the strongest brand in this group, mainly because of its low prices and clear, buyer-friendly policies. A 14 ft netted trampoline costs $329.99 with free standard shipping, and its 8/10/12 ft listing starts at $159.99 with a stated 400 lb weight capacity. The warranty covers the frame for 5 years and accessories for 3 years against manufacturing defects, and Aotob pays return shipping on quality problems. Buy if: you have the yard space, want a netted round or rectangular trampoline and are fine assembling it yourself. Skip if: you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Guam (no delivery), or want a springless premium design, which Aotob does not sell. Watch for: returns must be unused, so keep the boxes sealed until you have measured. Several listings omit per-jumper weight limits. The pink 12 ft model at $499.99 quotes a 1,400 lb capacity that is likely a static frame figure, and it costs far more than the 12 ft size on the cheaper multi-size listing. The rectangular model ($474.99 and up) is the pick for young gymnasts who want more controlled bounce. ## 2. Kensui: best for plate-loaded strength gear
Kensui's idea is simple: if you already own weight plates, you can skip buying fixed-weight items. The EZ-VEST loads standard 1-inch and 2-inch plates and comes in Lite (80 lb), Pro (150 lb) and Max (300 lb) versions from $99 to $299. AdaptaBELL dumbbells accept 28 mm and 50 mm plates and start at $49 a pair. Duo Rings offer two grip thicknesses (28 and 32 mm) with 16 ft numbered straps for $49. Buy if: you train at home, own plates and want compact, scalable tools. Skip if: you want simple, generous returns. Kensui's refund page describes a 100-day policy with partial refunds after 30 days, while its shipping policy says change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days for store credit. Sale items cannot be refunded. Watch for: shipping is calculated by weight at checkout, which adds up for plates. The VersaPlates 240 lb set ($856) uses a small 230 mm diameter, so deadlifts start lower than with standard 450 mm bumpers. Get the return terms for your exact item in writing before ordering anything expensive. ## 3. YESOUL: best value treadmills
YESOUL pitches itself as a lower-cost connected-fitness option, and the treadmill pricing backs that up. The T3S at $449.99 lists a 47 by 18 inch running surface, 0.6 to 8.7 mph and a 300 lb user limit. The T3S Pro adds auto-incline up to 10% for $599.99. At the top, the T5 Plus ($1,399.99) lists 30% max incline, 12.4 mph, a 20 by 60 inch surface, a 350 lb limit and heart-rate features. Buy if: you want incline walking or a bike-plus-treadmill bundle well below flagship prices. The Kickstart bundle pairs an S3 bike and T3S treadmill for $699.99. Skip if: you might change your mind. After the first 24 hours, non-defective returns within 14 days of delivery cost a $100 restocking fee plus return freight, which on a treadmill is substantial. No delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or territories. Watch for: the T3S Pro listing gives its motor as both 3.0HP and 3.5HP, and bundle pages omit bike and rower specs. Confirm with support before buying. ## 4. APE BORN: EMS with grounded expectations
APE BORN sells strap-on EMS stimulators for abs, arms, thighs and calves at $99.99 per zone, with 12 modes and 19 intensity levels. The VIP full body kit is $274.99, $25 less than a near-identical listing at $299.99. EMS can be a supplement to training, not a substitute for it. Claims on the listings, such as 20 minutes equaling 60 minutes of sit-ups, are the brand's marketing, and cited study numbers come from general NMES research, not tests of these devices. The bigger issue is policy. The refund page advertises a 60-day trial, but the shipping policy says change-of-mind returns must be requested within 2 days, refunded as store credit, with return shipping on you. Email support and get the applicable terms in writing first. Also watch for memberships or trials in the cart that may renew at $49.99 a month. ## 5. Yogamu: not recommended right now
When we researched Yogamu, its storefront showed a "store unavailable" message, with no products, prices, policies or contact details, which puts it at the bottom of this guide. Do not order until it shows a working catalog and a published refund policy, and buy yoga gear from a retailer with a clear return window in the meantime. ## What to check before buying any home fitness equipment
- Measure twice. For trampolines, leave clearance on every side; for indoor models, check ceiling height. For treadmills, check both the running surface and the folded footprint. The T3S folds to about 0.8 square meters. 2. Match the specs to your use. Walkers need incline more than speed. Runners need a longer deck and a higher top speed than 8.7 mph. Heavier users should check the rated user weight. 3. Confirm compatibility. Plate-loaded gear lists which plate hole sizes it fits (28 mm or 50 mm). Replacement trampoline parts usually fit one brand's frames; measure the frame, not the mat. 4. Price the return before you buy. On heavy equipment, return freight alone can wipe out a discount. YESOUL's $100 restocking fee and Kensui's store-credit clause are worth knowing upfront. 5. Ignore the crossed-out price. APE BORN, Kensui and Aotob all show compare-at prices that our reviews describe as unreliable on some items. 6. Keep the box. Aotob, Kensui and APE BORN all limit returns to unused items in original packaging. ## Policy comparison
| Brand | Return window | Cost to return | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aotob | 30 days, unused | You pay unless quality issue; $30 per package if canceled in transit | 5 yr frame, 3 yr accessories |
| Kensui | 14 or 100 days (pages conflict) | You pay; may be store credit | Claims within 90 days |
| YESOUL | Free within 24 hours; 14 days after delivery | $100 restocking fee plus freight | 1 year advertised |
| APE BORN | 60 days or 2 days (pages conflict) | You pay; may be store credit | Claims within 60 days |
| Yogamu | Not published | Not published | Not published |
