The verdict up front

These two brands overlap in one place: compact cordless cutting tools for people who do their own projects. Outside that, they are built for different jobs.

  • Buy Evolution if you need to cut steel, stainless, concrete, pavers or porcelain. It is a specialist in cold-cut metal saws and wet masonry saws, with a 3-year guarantee on saws and drills and a spare-parts catalog that keeps tools running for years. It is the slightly stronger brand overall, mainly on warranty length and parts support.
  • Buy Fanttik if you want light-duty, self-contained cordless tools for the house, car and garage: a small circular saw for trim and plywood, a rotary tool for crafts, a laser measure, plus tire inflators and car vacuums. It is a close second and the easier pick for casual home use.
  • If you are choosing one brand for a saw: Evolution for anything metal or masonry, Fanttik only for occasional light wood cuts where portability matters more than capacity.

Where they actually compete: cordless saws and cutters

Circular saws. Fanttik's O11 Apex is a 4-1/2 inch cordless circular saw at $169.99; its replacement blade (OB02) is a 24-tooth, 4-1/2 inch blade for wood at $29.99. That size suits trim, thin plywood and quick cuts around the house. Evolution's S6CCS-Li is a 6-1/2 inch cordless saw made for metal: a 20V brushless motor, a 40-tooth thin kerf blade, up to 2-1/4 inch cut depth and steel plate capacity to 1/4 inch, from $175 bare. If your projects involve sheet metal, channel or conduit, the Evolution is the tool. If you only cut wood occasionally and want something small, Fanttik's is the lighter-duty option.

Grinding and detail work. Evolution's S5AGR-Li is a 5 inch cordless angle grinder (up to 8700 RPM, tool-free disc changes, 12-position guard, electronic brake) at $100 bare. Fanttik's F2 Master Kit is a cordless rotary tool at $75.99 for sanding, engraving, polishing and small cuts. They are different tools: a grinder removes metal and cuts rod; a rotary tool does fine detail. Many DIYers end up owning one of each.

Masonry. Only Evolution plays here. The R6DCT is a corded 6 inch concrete saw with a 1600W belt-drive motor, 2 inch cut depth and dual-sided water feed for dust control, at $125 with a diamond blade included. Replacement 6 inch blades run $22 (Essential), $27 (Endurance) and $28 (Porcelain). For pavers and porcelain, it is a big step up from an angle grinder.

Price levels

Fanttik sits in the mid-range for battery gadgets. Most of what people buy there costs $60 to $170, and 142 of about 221 products were marked down when we checked, though some listings show a compare-at price equal to the selling price.

Evolution starts around $100 for a bare grinder and climbs to $650 for the bare 14 inch cordless chop saw, or $1,200 as a kit with batteries. Watch the "bare tool" pricing: cordless Evolution listings range widely depending on whether batteries and a charger are included. If you are new to the EXT platform, budget for a kit.

Policies compared

Both offer 30-day returns on unused items, and both make you pay return shipping on change-of-mind returns. Two differences matter:

  1. Warranty length. Evolution's 3 years on saws and drills beats Fanttik's 12 months on most items. For a tool that cuts steel, that difference is worth real money. Note that Evolution excludes blades and accessories, and says returns without the original blade void the warranty.
  2. Return freight. Returning a heavy chop saw costs more than returning a rotary tool, so Evolution's return-shipping rule bites harder. Evolution does arrange collection for faulty items.

Fanttik has one perk Evolution doesn't: 15-day price protection. If the price drops within 15 days of your order, you can ask for the difference. One wrinkle: Fanttik's warranty page says returns must be unopened within 30 days of purchase while the refund policy says unused within 30 days of delivery, so confirm before you open the box.

Who should pick which

Pick Fanttik if you:

  • Want a tire inflator, car vacuum, air duster and small cutting tools from one store.
  • Rent or have a small space and don't want a full battery platform.
  • Do light wood cuts and craft work rather than heavy fabrication.
  • Want free shipping on everything and price protection.

Pick Evolution if you:

  • Cut steel, stainless, aluminum or mixed materials, and want cold cuts with fewer sparks than abrasive discs.
  • Lay pavers or porcelain and want a wet saw rather than a grinder.
  • Want a long guarantee and the ability to buy individual spare parts later.
  • Already own Evolution 20V EXT batteries.

Skip both if you are already invested in a major cordless platform for general woodworking. Neither shares batteries with the big tool brands.

Frequently asked questions

Is Evolution better than Fanttik for cutting metal?
Yes. Evolution specializes in carbide-tipped cold-cut saws for steel and stainless, while Fanttik's saws are compact, light-duty tools aimed at household projects.
Which has the better warranty, Fanttik or Evolution?
Evolution: 3 years on saws and drills, though blades and accessories are excluded. Fanttik gives 12 months on most products and 2 years on line lasers.
Do Fanttik and Evolution tools share batteries?
No. Fanttik tools generally have their own built-in batteries, and Evolution cordless tools run on its own 20V EXT platform, which doesn't work with other brands.
Do both brands ship free?
Fanttik lists free shipping on all products in its US service area. Evolution's FAQ lists free 1 to 2 day shipping in the continental US, with extra charges for Alaska and Hawaii.
