Things to consider

  • Kits top out at $360, which is high next to big-brand grinder kits; the bare tool at $100 is the better deal.
  • 8700 RPM is on the lower side for a 5 inch grinder, though the listing calls it stall-free.
  • A lock-on trigger is convenient but some jobsites require paddle switches.

Buying from Evolution Power Tools

Evolution is a strong choice if you cut steel, concrete or mixed materials and want a dedicated saw with a 3-year guarantee and parts you can actually buy later. It's less compelling if you're already committed to a big cordless battery platform, since Evolution's cordless tools run on their own system. Check whether a cordless listing includes a battery and charger before you order.
