Castlebeard presents itself as a men's grooming brand. The site title promises "powerful skin care for men," and the About page describes a "Dallas made" line of beard oil, beard balm, beard butter, shampoo, handmade soaps, and scrubs made from natural ingredients sourced from US farms and manufacturers, without animal testing.

What the catalog actually shows

The store's catalog tells a different story. Of 1,364 listed products, the biggest categories are men's short-sleeve shirts (211), shirts and tops (182), socks (90), tee shirts (87), and "women's product" (63), along with team colorways, shorts, no-show socks, and "Boardroom" dress socks. Prices run from $1.99 to $1,650, with a median of $49.50, and 604 items were marked as on sale at the time of our research.

The top products we could see were almost entirely socks and belts. Boardroom dress socks such as the Piper, Mitchell, and Jett styles are $27 a pair. Earth Tone and Blue Jay ankle socks are $19.95. A large block of licensed Ole Miss socks sells for $22.95, and the Weekly Sply Vaught, a 7-pair Ole Miss sock set, is $149.95 against $161. The Oxford Woven Belt, a stretch elastic belt, is $44.95. Some sock descriptions refer to DeadSoxy's signature athletic fit, which suggests at least part of the range comes from another sock brand. Beard care products did not appear among the top in-stock items we reviewed.

Red flags worth knowing

The About page includes leftover template blocks ("Example product $29" repeated several times) and a section promoting supplements such as protein powders and fat burners that doesn't match the rest of the brand. We found no phone number or street address, and no traffic estimate or popularity rank for the domain. None of this proves a problem, but together it means the store doesn't present a clear, consistent identity, which is why its reputation and transparency scores are low.

The FAQ also makes product claims for the beard oil, such as supporting beard growth. Treat those as marketing; if you have a skin condition, check with a dermatologist before trying a new product.

Shipping and returns

According to the shipping policy, orders take 2 to 3 business days to process (the FAQ says 1 to 3) and average 3 to 5 business days in transit via USPS, UPS, DHL, or FedEx. We didn't see a free shipping threshold. Orders can be canceled within 24 hours.

The refund policy gives you 30 days after delivery to request a return. Items must be unworn or unused, with tags, in original packaging, and with proof of purchase, and you start by emailing support@castlebeard.com. The exceptions matter here: sale items, gift cards, and personal care products (which would include beard oils and skin care) can't be returned. Exchanges work as a return plus a new order.

What stands out
