Highlights
- 1.5-meter length of solder wick
- Two widths listed: 2.0mm and 3.5mm
- Used to clean up bridges and remove old solder from boards
- Single-piece roll for repair benches
Best for
Anyone learning to repair electronics who needs a low-cost way to fix solder mistakes.
Things to consider
- Wick works only as well as your iron; use enough heat and press the braid flat on the joint, and cut off the used section as it loads up with solder.
- The title does not say whether the braid has flux pre-applied, so keep a flux pen on hand.
- Budget about 1 to 3 weeks for delivery to a US address, faster when the listing is marked Choice. The listed price may not be the final cost, because import charges can apply to US orders, so read the total before you pay.

Frequently asked questions
What width of desoldering braid do I need?
Use the 2.0mm width for small pads and pins and 3.5mm for larger joints or wires.
Does it work better than a solder sucker?
They solve different problems. Braid is better for cleaning pads and tight spaces, a sucker for pulling solder out of through-holes.
Is it worth the price?
At about a dollar, yes for casual repairs. It is a consumable you use up, so the quality gap against pricier braid mostly shows up in how quickly it wicks.
What if it arrives damaged or never shows up?
Returns and claims are processed by AliExpress, so use the dispute option on your order. Some items qualify for free returns, which the listing should say. Transit from China to the US usually runs 7 to 21 days, faster when the listing is marked Choice.
Is the Desoldering Braid Wick on sale?
Yes. AliExpress lists it at $1.02, down from $2.91 (65% off). Sale prices change, so confirm the live price on aliexpress.com.
Is there a discount on the Desoldering Braid Wick?
AliExpress publishes these ways to save: Coins in the app. AliExpress sets the terms, which can change; our AliExpress coupons page has the details.
What is AliExpress's return policy?
Eligible items can be returned within 90 days of payment, with the first return on each order free, according to AliExpress's 2024 US announcement. Return terms vary by seller and item, so check the product page. Custom, perishable and hygiene items are generally excluded.
How long does AliExpress take to ship?
AliExpress's 2024 US guarantee listed Choice orders at 5 to 12 days and standard orders at 8 to 14 days, but real-world standard shipping from China often runs longer. Items marked Ship from United States come from local stock. Free shipping on Choice orders depends on a minimum order shown at checkout.
Does the Desoldering Braid Wick come with a warranty?
AliExpress's published warranty terms: AliExpress does not publish a marketplace-wide product warranty. Coverage depends on the individual seller, and Buyer Protection covers non-delivery, damage and not-as-described claims instead.
Where can I buy the Desoldering Braid Wick?
The Desoldering Braid Wick is sold directly by AliExpress on aliexpress.com. The Shop now button on this page goes straight to the product there.
Is the Desoldering Braid Wick in stock?
Yes. AliExpress lists it as in stock on aliexpress.com as of our latest check. Stock and prices refresh throughout the day.
Is AliExpress a legit store?
AliExpress is a legitimate marketplace that is worth using for cheap, low-risk things like cables, tools, cleaning supplies and small home items, as long as you can wait and you buy from well-rated sellers. Skip it for anything safety-critical, brand-name or urgent. Check the seller's feedback score, the delivery estimate and the import-charge line at checkout before you pay.
