Funphix is a good fit for parents who want life-size building kits kids can turn into forts, plus indoor climbers for rainy days, with parts that stay compatible across sets. About Funphix

Funphix started with a simple idea: oversized construction kits that kids can snap together into forts, castles, and play structures big enough to sit inside. Its about page pitches the sets as indoor and outdoor toys that encourage building, creativity, and social play. The store has since grown into a broader kids' activity shop with indoor climbers, backyard playhouses, mud kitchens, gymnastics bars, and even some adult home gym equipment. It lists a New York contact address, a support email, and a phone number. We found no traffic or ranking data for the site.

What the catalog looks like

There are about 136 products, with a median price around $292. The fort kits are the most affordable entry. The Funphix 77 Pc Fort Building Kit with glow-in-the-dark sticks is $67.04, themed kits like the 93 Pc Super Soldier Army Kit and 99 Pc Princess Castle Kit run about $78 to $80, and the 154 Pc supersized glow fort set is $109.66 to $143.09 depending on the included sheets. The 371-piece Funphix Explorer Set ($499) is the large-format version for building climbable structures. Parts bundles, connectors, wheels (Rollin' Wheels x6 for $79), and railings are sold separately.

Indoor climbers make up another big group: the Pikler Climbing Set with foldable triangle and slide board ($249), a 7-in-1 Wooden Toddler Climbing Toy ($299), Swedish ladder wall gyms ($329 to $539), and an indoor rock climbing wall ($399). Outdoor items include the Hangout Hut playhouse with sandbox ($399), cedar playhouse kitchens ($419 to $439), and playsets with slides and swings up to $949. A newer adult fitness section adds parallel bars, a squat stand, a door gym, and a Pilates reformer ($499).

What makes it different

The building kits are the real differentiator. The FAQ says every Funphix kit is compatible with every other, including kits bought years ago, so you can start small and keep adding pieces as kids grow. The fort kits come with glow-in-the-dark sticks and fabric sheets, so a kit becomes a hideout rather than just a model. Most construction toys are tabletop-sized; these are built to climb into.

Returns and shipping

The return policy is short. Email returns@funphix.com within 30 days of purchase and Funphix will refund the purchase price less 15%, or exchange the items. Returns after 30 days aren't accepted. That 15% deduction is significant on a $500 to $900 playset, so measure your space and check age ranges before you buy.

We did not find a shipping policy in the pages we reviewed, so delivery costs, timing, and whether large playsets ship by freight are unknown. No products were on sale when we checked.

What stands out

  • Life-size fort kits. Glow-in-the-dark sticks and fabric sheets build forts kids can sit inside.
  • Cross-compatible parts. The FAQ says all kits work together, even ones bought years ago.
  • Indoor climbers. Pikler triangles, Swedish ladder walls, and a 7-in-1 toddler climber.
  • Published contact details. Support email, returns email, and a toll-free phone number.
