Highlights
- Copper mesh braid for pulling solder away from a joint
- Multiple widths from 1.0 mm to 4.0 mm to match pad size
- Works with a normal soldering iron, no extra device needed
- Priced at $2.44
Best for
Hobbyists and phone or board repairers who occasionally need to remove solder from through-hole or SMD joints.
Things to consider
- The listing title does not say how many meters of braid you receive, so check the variant text for length
- Braid works best with a little flux; plain braid can lift stubbornly on lead-free solder
- Flat copper braid ships easily, so one to three weeks is the usual wait, with Buyer Protection behind you if it gets lost

Frequently asked questions
Which width should I pick?
Match the braid to the pad or pin you are cleaning: 1.0 to 2.0 mm for fine SMD pads and about 3.0 to 4.0 mm for larger joints. Too wide a braid pulls heat away from the part and can overheat nearby components.
Do I need flux with desoldering braid?
It helps a lot. Pre-fluxed braid is not mentioned in the listing, so add a dab of rosin flux to the braid or the joint before you press the iron on it.
How fast will it ship to the US?
Because desoldering braid is light and flat, it travels cheaply and usually arrives within one to three weeks. Choice and US-warehouse sellers cut that down. Check the tracking on your order page, and use Buyer Protection for a missing roll; checkout may also show a small import charge.
Is this good enough for electronics work?
A plain copper braid is a simple commodity item, and the quality gap between sellers is small. Check that the strands look bright and evenly woven in the photos, as dull or oily braid wicks poorly.
Is the Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire on sale?
Yes. AliExpress lists it at $2.44, down from $4.89 (50% off). Sale prices change, so confirm the live price on aliexpress.com.
Is there a discount on the Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire?
AliExpress publishes these ways to save: Coins in the app. AliExpress sets the terms, which can change; our AliExpress coupons page has the details.
What is AliExpress's return policy?
Eligible items can be returned within 90 days of payment, with the first return on each order free, according to AliExpress's 2024 US announcement. Return terms vary by seller and item, so check the product page. Custom, perishable and hygiene items are generally excluded.
How long does AliExpress take to ship?
AliExpress's 2024 US guarantee listed Choice orders at 5 to 12 days and standard orders at 8 to 14 days, but real-world standard shipping from China often runs longer. Items marked Ship from United States come from local stock. Free shipping on Choice orders depends on a minimum order shown at checkout.
Does the Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire come with a warranty?
AliExpress's published warranty terms: AliExpress does not publish a marketplace-wide product warranty. Coverage depends on the individual seller, and Buyer Protection covers non-delivery, damage and not-as-described claims instead.
Where can I buy the Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire?
The Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire is sold directly by AliExpress on aliexpress.com. The Shop now button on this page goes straight to the product there.
Is the Copper Desoldering Braid Wick Wire in stock?
Yes. AliExpress lists it as in stock on aliexpress.com as of our latest check. Stock and prices refresh throughout the day.
Is AliExpress a legit store?
AliExpress is a legitimate marketplace that is worth using for cheap, low-risk things like cables, tools, cleaning supplies and small home items, as long as you can wait and you buy from well-rated sellers. Skip it for anything safety-critical, brand-name or urgent. Check the seller's feedback score, the delivery estimate and the import-charge line at checkout before you pay.
