Hexgaming review 2026

HexGaming is a strong pick for competitive shooter players who want back paddles, trigger stops and drift-resistant sticks on an official controller shell, for less than many pro-controller brands charge. Skip it if you need the controller soon, since US orders ship from China and take 15 to 25 business days on free shipping. Confirm the platform before ordering (PS4 models can't play PS5 games on a PS5), because non-defective returns carry a 15% restocking fee.

About Hexgaming

HexGaming builds customized "pro" controllers for PlayStation and Xbox. Their about page says it is an offshoot of ExtremeRate, a controller customization company with more than 14 years of experience, and lists a business address in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Product listings say each controller is built from an authentic official controller, then upgraded with back buttons, remapping, adjustable triggers and upgraded joysticks.

What's in the lineup

The store shows about 194 listings, but roughly half are hidden customization parts used by the controller builder, so the real lineup is a few model families in many color designs. Controllers run from about $130 to $220, and about 43 listings were discounted when we checked.

For PS5, the PHANTOM with adjustable triggers is $199.99 (listed down from $249.99), and the ULTIMATE PRO with extended rubberized grips runs $189.99 with standard sticks or $209.99 with Hall effect joysticks. The ULTIMATE with Hall effect sticks is $179.99. On Xbox, the ADVANCE with TMR joysticks and adjustable triggers is $149.99, and the ULTRA X with TMR sticks is $159.99. For PS4, the NEW EDGE with TMR sticks and a USB-C port is $129.99. Accessories like stands, cases, thumbsticks and a 13-foot USB-C cable cost about $10 to $26.

How it compares

The pitch is similar to other pro-controller modders: paddles on the back you can remap to face buttons, trigger stops for faster shots, and magnetic Hall effect or TMR sticks that are designed to resist drift. HexGaming's prices sit around or below first-party pro controllers and well-known custom brands, and the color and art options are broad. Their FAQ is clear about compatibility: PS5 models work on PS5 and PC, PS4 models on PS4, PS5 (PS4 games only) and PC, and Xbox models on Xbox and PC.

Shipping, returns and warranty

According to their shipping policy, controllers take about 5 to 7 days to assemble, then ship from China. Free standard shipping to the US is estimated at 15 to 25 business days; DHL Express costs $25 and takes 5 to 10 business days. You may owe customs fees. Returns follow a 30-day trial: open a ticket within 30 days and ship it back within 45. Non-defective returns carry a 15% restocking fee and you pay return shipping. The warranty page promises lifetime repair support for defects like stick drift and button failure, with free repairs and round-trip shipping for the first 6 months.

What stands out

  • Built on official controllers, according to their product listings.
  • Drift-resistant stick options with Hall effect or TMR joysticks on most models.
  • Lifetime repair support, with free repairs and shipping for the first 6 months.
  • Clear platform compatibility spelled out in the FAQ.
